I am descended from Scottish, German, and English ancestors that I have been able to 
trace.  As with so many Americans I am right out of the melting pot.

The PHILLIPS family is believed to be of Scottish descent.  The original spelling was 
with only one L, PHILIPS.  Only a few of his descendents kept that spelling.

The SAUNDERS, WASHER, and WOOD lines all trace to Virginia, and as a result of the 
Civil War, many records were lost during the fighting.

My mother's family in the United States can be traced primarily to Pittsburgh, 
Pennsylvania and Zanesville, Ohio.
